The Centre for Studies and Legal and Socio-Administrative Research (CSCJSA) within the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the Petroleum-Gas University Ploieşti was established by University Senate Decision no. 810 dated April 4th 2013. The centre represents a research structure, without legal personality, whose purpose is to conduct studies and research in law, social sciences, European issues and public administration. Also, among the objectives of the Centre there are: the organization of national and international scientific events, the collaboration with similar entities, as well as the annual awarding of the valedictorian from the Public Administration specialization. The Scientific Council of the Centre includes notable persons from the field of law and social sciences, from Romania and abroad, theorists and practitioners.
In 2013, the Centre awarded the 2013 Valedictorian of the Public Administration specialization. The awarding was performed by Professor Verginia Vedinaş, PhD, member of the Scientific Council of the Centre for Studies and Legal and Social Administration Research. Also in 2013, together with the Faculty of Business and Administration from the University of Bucharest and the Romanian Association of Law and European Affairs, the International Conference “Public Administration. Current Trends.” was held in Bucharest.
The centre has signed four agreements of scientific cooperation with the Business and Administration Faculty of the University of Bucharest, with the Romanian Association of Law and European Affairs, with the Society for Legal and Administrative Sciences in Bucharest, and the Institute of Administrative Sciences “Paul Negulescu” from Sibiu.
On February 25th 2014, the Centre organized the book launch “The role of national parliaments in the development and implementation of European law” at the “Nicolae Iorga” Library in Ploieşti. On April 2nd 2014, the Centre organized in Ploieşti, together with its partners, the International Conference “Public Administration in Europe of the 28. The Legal and Managerial Dimension”; on June 13th 2014 it organized the National Conference with international participation on “Current Trends in Public Law. A Legal and Philosophical approach.”
On November 24th, The Center for Studies and Legal and Socio-Administrative Research and signed a scientific collaboration agreement with the Institute of Administrative Sciences of Republic of Moldova, and on December 5th, 2014 organized the International Conference “The Constitution and the Contemporary Society” which brought together over 50 experts from Romania and abroad.
On June 12th 2015, the Centre for Studies and Legal and Socio-Administrative Research organized the International Conference “Current issues of administration and justice”, a scientific event during which 100 papers were presented.
On June 10th 2016, The Centre for Studies and Legal and Socio-Administrative Research organized the International Conference “Europe adrift. From unity in diversity to diversity without unity. Legal, social, political, economic and cultural effects”.
